Position Summary

The Group Benefits Associate is responsible for providing day-to-day support to an assigned block of broker business within the Wholesale Department. This position serves as a key point of contact for broker partners and is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and professional service related to group benefits.

The Group Benefits Associate will work closely with brokers, carriers, and internal teams to manage enrollment transactions, provide benefit quotes, resolve issues, and ensure requests are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and able to effectively prioritize multiple requests and deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities
Manage and service an assigned block of broker business.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with assigned broker partners.
Respond to broker inquiries in a timely, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
Prepare and provide group benefits quotes to brokers.
Process employee enrollment, termination, change, and other benefit-related transactions accurately and efficiently.
Review enrollment requests and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Coordinate with insurance carriers and internal teams to resolve enrollment, billing, eligibility, and coverage issues.
Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure items are resolved within established service expectations.
Assist brokers with carrier requirements, plan information, eligibility questions, and benefit administration processes.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assigned accounts.
Monitor deadlines and prioritize work based on urgency, client needs, and established service standards.
Communicate proactively with brokers regarding the status of requests and any information needed to complete transactions.
Escalate complex or time-sensitive issues to the Wholesale Team Leader or appropriate internal resource.
Stay current on carrier requirements, benefit administration procedures, and applicable processes.
Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve the broker and client experience.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Previous experience in employee benefits, insurance, benefits administration, or a related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
Strong customer service skills and a professional approach to working with broker partners.
Ability to research issues, identify solutions, and follow through to resolution.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability and willingness to learn benefits administration systems, carrier platforms, and internal systems.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with group health and welfare benefits.
Experience supporting insurance brokers or employer groups.
Knowledge of group benefits enrollment and eligibility processes.
Familiarity with insurance carrier systems and online enrollment platforms.
Experience working with benefits administration platforms such as Benelink.
Knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other employee benefit products.
Experience working with carrier billing and resolving eligibility or enrollment discrepancies.
