Job description

Bridges Institute is expanding and is seeking outstanding Fluent English-speaking teachers for full-time and part-time positions in schools and learning centers across the Negev.

Since 2014, Bridges has helped more than 11,000 students across over 50 schools and institutions build the confidence to communicate in English. Our program is approved by the Israeli Ministry of Education.

At Bridges, English comes to life through movement, games, stories, role-play, conversation, and real communication. Our goal is not simply to teach vocabulary and grammar, but to help students find their voice and speak English confidently.

The Role

• Deliver engaging, in-person spoken-English lessons to children and teenagers.

• Create a positive, well-managed classroom where students feel comfortable participating and speaking.

• Use Bridges teaching materials and adapt activities to students’ ages and English levels.

• Lead active lessons incorporating communication, movement, games, stories, and role-play.

• Collaborate professionally with Bridges coordinators and school teams.

• Arrive prepared, communicate reliably, and maintain consistent attendance.

Placements are available in schools and learning centers across the Negev and are determined according to program needs, candidate availability, and location.

No Hebrew is required—the lessons are conducted in English. New Olim and veteran residents are welcome to apply.

• English speaker—English at a fluent level.

• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

• A recognized academic degree.

• Legal authorization to work in Israel.

• Availability Sunday–Thursday during school hours, according to the agreed work schedule.

• Ability to travel to assigned in-person school placements across the Negev – (All schools are accessible by public transportation)

• Confidence leading and managing groups of children or teenagers.

• Enjoys active teaching through speaking, movement, games, and interaction.

• Able to create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.

• Communicates professionally and works well as part of a team.

• Understands that many students must first build confidence before they can speak English freely.

Advantages

• Previous teaching or classroom experience.

• Experience working with children or teenagers.

• An educational background or teaching certificate.
