School Driver Position Overview

A school in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a responsible, dependable, and safety-conscious School Driver to provide transportation for a small group of 4–5 elementary school children in grades 2–4.

The ideal candidate is a safe and cautious driver who is punctual, reliable, patient with children, and committed to providing consistent transportation throughout the school week.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport approximately 4–5 elementary school students in grades 2–4.
• Provide reliable transportation according to the school's established schedule.
• Ensure students arrive at their destinations safely and on time.
• Assist with safe student pickup and drop-off.
• Maintain a consistent and dependable daily transportation routine.
• Ensure students follow appropriate safety procedures while in the vehicle.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vehicle environment.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws and passenger safety requirements.
• Plan routes appropriately and account for traffic and potential delays.
• Communicate promptly regarding delays, schedule changes, or transportation concerns.
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with students, parents, and school staff.
• Immediately report any vehicle or safety concerns.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Clean and safe driving record.
• Responsible, punctual, and highly dependable.
• Comfortable transporting young children.
• Patient, attentive, and professional when interacting with students.
• Strong commitment to passenger safety.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with Brooklyn and surrounding areas preferred.
• Previous experience as a school driver, family driver, transportation driver, or similar role is a plus.
• Ability to maintain a consistent weekday schedule.
