Your Impact

This position makes an impact at AJC by managing work with moderate, but important impact on the organization's mission and goals. Works with regular oversight to solve moderately complex problems and make moderate and significant decisions.

Incumbents manage programs, projects, initiatives, and events that advance AJC’s mission and advocacy efforts. Working under direct supervision, this position is responsible for planning and executing departmental strategies, engaging and communicating with influential stakeholders, and building coalitions and partnerships.

Your Role

Contribute to the development and execution of the department's strategy, goals, objectives, and action plans
Manage and facilitate advocacy and outreach programs, projects, initiatives, events, meetings, trainings, and/or missions
Implement new opportunities to expand departmental initiatives beyond existing programs
May participate and support the work of Boards, committees, task forces, or working groups
Leverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiatives
May assist with development efforts, including participation in fundraising initiatives and plans, donor outreach, providing materials for grant applications and reports, and related activities
Maintain and manage programmatic spending for initiatives they work on
Research, monitor, and report on developments, issues, and trends impacting the department and AJC priorities
Coordinate, attend, and/or lead meetings
Develop relationships with and engage strategic contacts, groups, and organizations
Support the building of coalitions, partnerships, and initiatives with organizations and other external partners to further AJC’s mission
Assist in representing AJC and the department in the community, at functions, and in other public forums
Draft, edit, and disseminate communications resources and materials

Specific to This Role
Design and implement innovative advocacy-focused programming opportunities to retain existing ACCESS leaders and recruit new ACCESS prospects.
Identify and develop advocacy opportunities/experiences that advance AJC’s mission and elevate ACCESS’ presence within the organization with a focus on AJC’s core areas of focus: combatting antisemitism and defending Israel’s place in the world.
Work closely with AJC’s Department of Regional Offices and AJC’s Office of Political Outreach to build relationships between ACCESS leaders and local elected officials and high-profile state/local candidates.
Work closely with intergroup and interreligious communities to establish further partnership opportunities and address issues of mutual concern, which upkeeping current partnerships.
Work closely with AJC Institutes and the AJC Global Affairs department to determine new pathways for ACCESS’ role in pursuing AJC’s diplomatic work.
Work closely with Associate Director of Development, Alexander Young Leadership, AJC’s Alexander Associate regions, and ACCESS affiliates based in regional offices throughout the United States, as well as abroad, to ensure a streamlined ACCESS programming and advocacy strategy that brings young professionals into AJC.
Plan and implement ACCESS timely programming at the annual AJC Global Forum, and other national gatherings, that will help to curate meaningful advocacy and leadership development experiences for ACCESS leaders.
In close coordination with the Director of ACCESS Global, work to share and adapt AJC’s policies, calls to action and digital content for a millennial audience.
Travel on AJC overseas missions and to AJC Regional Offices for ACCESS-focused programming, and to represent ACCESS to political, diplomatic, interreligious, and community partners, as well as AJC lay leadership.

Education, Training, and Experience

Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience and intermediate job skills and knowledge
