Job description

Duties

Duties:

Assists customer in locating products & provides detailed information to enhance their shopping experience.
Handles sales transactions efficiently using a cash register, ensuring accuracy & customer satisfaction.
Restocks merchandise and ensures products are properly labeled for display.
Maintains a clean & organized store environment, ensuring a pleasant & efficient shopping experience.
Performs other duties as assigned.

As a Condition of Employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, we may consider:

- Your performance and conduct
- The needs and interests of the agency
- Whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government
- Whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service
Upon completion of your trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Additional Conditions of Employment include:

-Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
-Subject to background/security investigation.

Qualifications

Requirements:

A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service.
?Excellent customer service skills
Basic math skills for handling transactions.
Requires constant standing, walking, and frequent bending.
Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
One year of experience in the service industry is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with retail software and point-of-sale systems is a plus.
