Job Overview:

The Third Party Software team coordinates implementation efforts and provides comprehensive support to any specialty software used within B&H. The team collaborates with outside vendors to coordinate the system installation and configuration, as well as the necessary training for all system users. When necessary, software systems must be configured to integrate with other programs, such as the B&H UNIX Legacy system.

Under minimal supervision, the Third Party Administrator Level 3 assists in the repairing of faulty data, system bugs, major implementations, configuration, and customization of software programs into B&H. Each project may require collaboration with multiple departments as well as outside vendors to determine the requirements of the software and its integration into the current IT infrastructure. Additionally, the Admin Level 3 interacts with outside vendors to set guidelines pertaining to license agreements, service contracts, and scheduled software maintenance. S/he conducts analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing and implementation of enterprise-wide systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Baan, PeopleSoft) across functional areas. S/he plans and directs studies of potential electronic data processing applications and prepares design proposals to reflect cost, time and alternative actions to satisfy existing and future needs of the corporation. The Level 3 Admin also develops test plans and protocols for evaluation of system performance. S/he conducts analysis of systems specifications and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes. The Third Party Administrator Level 3 develops conversion and system implementation plans. S/he prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Additionally, s/he recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards, coordinates the system upgrade activity, and trains user personnel in the conversion and implementation of the system.

The Level 3 Admin is responsible for requests that the TPS Admin Level 3 is unable to fulfill – i.e they are above his skill set. S/he will keep the business informed as to the status of the request.

The Level 3 Admin ensures constant availability of all software programs and provides technical support to internal users. Communication is essential as the Admin Level 3 interacts with business users on a constant basis to understand and properly diagnose each issue as well as provide the necessary training when appropriate. Additionally, the Level 3 Admin works together with outside vendors to gain additional understanding on software capabilities and stays up-to-date with recent software changes.

Essential Responsibilities:

Ensure consistent availability of all third party software systems

Collaborate with multiple IS and non-IS departments to gather requirements for proper installation and integration of system software

Establish requirements pertaining to licenses and other intangible software agreements

Provide technical support on third party software to all users within B&H

Document the resolution of each request within the Incident Monitor system

Assist software users with training to limit future issues when appropriate

When necessary, configure the software for optimal use

Interact with vendors to aid with major software support issues

Collaborate with vendors on new software updates and gain training on new functionality

Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:

2-4 years of experience using major Windows software programs

Integration of UNIX platform with third party software

Large scale software implementation and configuration

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication skills to interpret complex concepts to vendors and software users

High level understanding software integration concepts

Familiarity with B&H workflow, policies and procedures, especially B&H IT structure – who to refer to for various issues

Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, resourceful, and efficient research skills
