Part-Time Office Security Specialist at Secure Community Network

Secure Community Network (SCN), the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America, seeks a part-time Office Security Specialist responsible for the safety and security of SCN's staff and its Chicago Field Support Center. The role protects employees, visitors, and company property through access control, proactive monitoring, and incident prevention. Onsite in Chicago, up to 29 hours per week. Responsibilities: • Manage access and visitor screening, documentation, escorting, badging, and departure • Monitor security cameras and accept and examine mail and package deliveries • Conduct routine perimeter patrols to identify potential security risks • Coordinate with building management, SCN staff, security vendors, and law enforcement • Respond to emergencies including security threats, natural and human-made disasters, and medical emergencies • Utilize de-escalation techniques and provide first aid, AED, and stop-the-bleed support as necessary • Provide security-related awareness briefings for designated individuals and SCN personnel Qualifications: • Law enforcement academy certification or approved U.S. military criminal investigative/law enforcement MOS, with at least 10 years of sworn law enforcement experience (currently sworn, retired in good standing, or honorably discharged) • Must qualify under LEOSA (HR 218) to legally possess a concealed firearm • CPR, AED, and First Aid training • Working knowledge of physical security systems, intrusion detection and alarm equipment, access control, CCTV, and technical security countermeasures • Strong situational awareness, ability to make decisions under pressure, and strict confidentiality • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in an Apple environment preferred Compensation: $40/hour.
