Overview

The Director will have end-to-end responsibility for the business, including operations, compliance, business development, strategic partnerships, financial performance, and long-term growth initiatives. This individual will serve as the primary driver of the organization’s success and will work closely with ownership to scale the business while maintaining exceptional patient care and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable reviewing operational metrics, negotiating strategic partnerships, building referral relationships, developing teams, solving complex reimbursement challenges, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

Oversee all pharmacy operations from intake through fulfillment and ongoing patient support

Ensure compliance with all state, federal, accreditation, and payor requirements

Build scalable workflows, systems, and processes that support growth

Establish and monitor operational KPIs, service levels, and financial performance metrics

Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all departments

Strategic Business Development

Develop and execute growth strategies that increase prescription volume and profitability

Build and maintain relationships with physicians, health systems, specialty providers, payors, and industry partners

Identify and secure new referral sources and strategic opportunities

Create partnership opportunities with larger pharmacy networks and healthcare organizations

Represent the organization in key business and industry relationships

Network & Partnership Development

Integrate the pharmacy into larger networks of pharmacies, providers, and healthcare organizations

Evaluate and negotiate strategic alliances that drive patient access and business growth

Expand manufacturer, provider, and specialty program relationships

Serve as the executive point person for major partnerships and growth initiatives

Financial & Business Performance

Own revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency

Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning

Monitor reimbursement trends, margins, and business performance

Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining exceptional service

Team Leadership

Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team

Establish a culture of accountability, ownership, responsiveness, and patient-centered care

Mentor managers and create leadership succession plans

Ensure alignment between operational goals and business objectives

Qualifications:

7+ years of leadership experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare services, infusion, pharmacy operations, or a related healthcare environment

Demonstrated success leading operations and business growth initiatives

Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy reimbursement, payors, prior authorizations, and accreditation requirements

Experience developing strategic partnerships and referral relationships

Proven ability to build teams, systems, and scalable operations

Strong financial acumen and business judgment

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think like an owner

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

Compensation:

Executive-level base salary $225,000-$275,000

Performance-based 20%-30% target bonus tied to growth, profitability, and operational performance

3%-10% profit share above agreed baseline

Potential for long-term incentive of equity participation

Significant opportunity for career and financial growth as the business expands
