Ditmas Children’s Nursing & Rehab – Brooklyn, NY

Ditmas Children’s Nursing & Rehab is looking for a caring and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our growing educational program serving medically complex children.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our Special Education Teacher and help create a supportive, engaging classroom environment where every child can learn, grow, and reach their potential.

Responsibilities:

Support the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and instruction
Work directly with medically complex children
Assist with classroom organization and student engagement
Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
Collaborate with the educational and interdisciplinary team

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children preferred
Special education, healthcare, or similar experience is a plus
Patient, compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented
Comfortable working with children with complex medical needs
Motivated to learn and grow in a specialized educational setting
