Job description

Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst

Location: Boro Park, Brooklyn, NY
Reports To: Controller
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $95,000 – $115,000 annually

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst to join a growing healthcare organization in Boro Park and work closely with our Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to go beyond traditional bookkeeping and take ownership of the numbers behind the financial statements. The right candidate will play an important role in financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability reporting across multiple entities, including a healthcare organization and MSO.

What You’ll Be Doing

Prepare monthly financial and management reporting

Analyze financial performance by entity, location, department, and line of business

Prepare budget-to-actual and month-over-month variance analysis

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow reporting

Support month-end and year-end close

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

Maintain and reconcile balance-sheet accounts

Identify unusual activity, trends, and financial variances

Track and reconcile intercompany transactions between multiple entities

Support MSO management-fee invoicing and related accounting

Review AP and payroll reconciliations

Assist with audit, tax, cost-report, and other financial schedules

Help improve and automate recurring financial reports and accounting processes

What We’re Looking For

3–5+ years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience

Strong understanding of financial statements and general ledger accounting

Strong Excel and financial-analysis skills

Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations

Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred

Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Someone who can identify and investigate issues—not simply process transactions

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who can own the numbers underneath the financial statements.

You should be comfortable digging into the financials, understanding why results are changing, identifying trends and discrepancies, and turning accounting data into clear, useful information for management.

This is not intended to be primarily a bookkeeping position. The role is designed to grow into a key financial resource for the organization, with increasing responsibility for management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and understanding profitability across the business.
