Role Overview:
Global Trade (GT) requirements exist to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to economic sanctions and the export and import of products, services and technical data.
The Avionics Senior Global Trade Relationship Manager (GTRM) is responsible for proactively working with the business product line leaders/teams to provide strategic Global Trade (GT) guidance in support of business objectives/programs while maintaining compliance with all applicable GT regulations and company policies and procedures. This position will partner closely with Avionics senior leaders, engineering, and business product line team members to understand program objectives, provide guidance regarding GT regulations, establish an authorization/technology transfer plan, and ensure plan execution to allow business requirements to be realized. Direct interface with U.S. and International customers and the ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, and drive results to meet commitments is required.
As a Senior Global Trade Relationship Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of the Collins Global Trade Program (training, policies, processes, implementation, execution & metrics); using digital technology and physical safeguards to manage transfers compliantly and efficiently; ensuring compliant transfers of physical goods and intangible items; sanctions and embargo compliance and addressing regulatory and policy violations to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement. This role also includes responsibilities for leading and managing projects related to authorizations and global trade, both at the Avionics and Collins level.
What You Will Do:
Analyze business needs with respect to Global Trade requirements and develop compliant solutions across all phases of the business lifecycle
Serve as the Global Trade liaison for Avionics assigned business segment(s) and leaders
Support the development and execution of business strategic initiatives, and support Global Trade efforts for technology development
Working under/within the following U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and HTS
Deployment of the Collins and Avionics Global Trade policies and procedures
Support the development of the Global Trade focal network
Support licensing and authorizations activities for assigned business segments
Support Regulatory Compliance investigations
Support development and delivery of formal and informal Global Trade training and communications
Review of transactions under Collins Sanctions policy
Support compliance requirements related to foreign person employees
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Strong working knowledge of the U.S. GT regulations including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
International and Domestic Travel 10% required
Qualifications We Prefer:
Basic understanding of US. Customs regulations
Background and/or experience in engineering or related discipline in the aerospace industry
Project or program management experience
Aerospace technical experience
Experience with EMEA regional and national regulations
Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated interpersonal/soft skills in a dynamic, global, fast-paced environment
Experience with business process improvement and implementing change in a dynamic environment
Have the ability to manage competing priorities, and meet multiple goals, plans and milestones
Strong IT experience including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with interpreting, managing, and implementing regulations, policies and procedures
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization preferred
