Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the design and execution of data analytics strategies aligned with federal program objectives.
Perform statistical modeling, trend analysis, forecasting, and data mining using large, complex datasets.
Build dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ensure compliance with federal data standards, including FISMA, NIST, and agency-specific requirements.
Present findings to government clients, support decision-making, and translate analytical results into operational recommendations.
Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading processes; implement data quality checks and validation procedures.
Mentor junior analysts, manage analytics workstreams, and contribute to project planning and documentation.
Develop automated workflows using Python, R, SQL, or similar tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain strict adherence to federal cybersecurity and privacy requirements, including handling of sensitive but unclassified (SBU) or controlled unclassified information (CUI).
QUALIFICATIONS:

8-10 years of analytics experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data science roles.
Expert SQL proficiency and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
Proficiency in analytics tools such as Python, R, SAS, or similar.
Experience with federal contracting, including working within FAR-regulated environments.
Strong understanding of NIST frameworks and federal data security standards.
Dashboard development expertise using Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or GCP.
Knowledge of federal financial or operational systems (e.g., DoD, DHS, HHS, VA).
Experience with Agile methodologies in a federal environment.
Machine learning exposure for predictive analytics or anomaly detection.
Experience with data cataloging tools such as Collibra or Alation.
CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING PREFERRED:

CompTIA Security+ (often required for DoD 8570/8140 compliance).
Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent.
AWS/Azure Data Certifications (e.g., AWS Data Analytics Specialty, Azure Data Engineer).
EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:

Ability to pass NACI Background Check.
PHYSICAL / TRAVEL, WORK REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment with extended periods of sitting, typing, and screen time.
Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs for equipment or materials.
Clear speech and hearing for presentations and stakeholder discussions.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
