Job description

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, test, and enhance Workday functionality in alignment with business requirements and HR technology priorities.
Manage integrations between Workday and third-party systems, including payroll providers, benefits vendors, identity and access management platforms, finance systems, IT service management platforms, recruiting technologies, and other enterprise applications.
Partner with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business leaders to understand business needs and deliver scalable, sustainable technology solutions.
Translate complex business requirements into system designs, configurations, integrations, reports, and process improvements.
Lead or independently manage HRIS projects and enhancements from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, implementation, documentation, and post-launch support.
Research, diagnose, and resolve complex system, data, configuration, and integration issues in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
Support recurring and annual People programs, including benefits open enrollment, performance management, goal setting, compensation and merit cycles, payroll activities, absence management, and other HR processes.
Evaluate existing processes and technology capabilities, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions that increase efficiency, scalability, quality, and user experience.
Establish and maintain system controls that reduce operational risk and support compliance with applicable employment, payroll, privacy, and benefits requirements.
Monitor and audit system processes, integrations, security roles, and employee data to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, security, and data integrity.
Develop and maintain complex reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and recurring analytics for HR, management, and business stakeholders.
Coordinate testing and validation activities for Workday releases, system enhancements, integrations, and business process changes.
Maintain system documentation, configuration records, integration specifications, business process documentation, and operating procedures.
Facilitate system training, develop user resources, and provide advanced guidance to employees, managers, HR partners, and system administrators.
Monitor Workday and HR technology trends, releases, and emerging capabilities and recommend improvements based on organizational needs.
Serve as a subject-matter expert and trusted advisor on HR technology capabilities, data, processes, and system design.

Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related HR systems or HR technology experience; or a master’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of related experience; or equivalent practical experience.
Advanced experience configuring, supporting, and optimizing Workday, including several of the following modules: HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Performance, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, Reporting, and Security.
Demonstrated experience managing integrations between Workday or another enterprise HR platform and payroll, benefits, identity management, finance, IT, recruiting, and other third-party systems.
Strong understanding of integration concepts and technologies, such as Enterprise Interface Builder, Core Connectors, APIs, web services, middleware, and secure file transfers.
Experience translating complex business needs into scalable HR technology solutions and clearly documented technical or functional requirements.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex system implementations, enhancements, integrations, or cross-functional HR technology initiatives.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate multiple variables, identify root causes, assess risk, and recommend effective solutions.
Strong working knowledge of HR, payroll, benefits, compensation, recruiting, and employee lifecycle processes.
Experience developing complex Workday reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and data validation processes.
Knowledge of HR data privacy, system security, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
Strong communication, consulting, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise stakeholders and explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
Ability to build productive partnerships across Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT, business teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Sound judgment and discretion when managing confidential employee and company information.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing organizational and business requirements.
Workday certification in one or more functional or integration areas is preferred.
Experience in a high-growth, technology, healthcare, or regulated environment is preferred.

Human Resources assists in developing and enforcing workplace policies, including by partnering with the Compliance Team to train employees on policies and procedures important to ensuring workplace safety and security.
