Job Summary/Objective:

The Religious School Operations Administrator will work closely with most areas in the department and provide all operational support to the Religious School. The position requires efficiency, strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and the delivery of time-sensitive communication across departments and with our congregants.

Reports to Director of the Religious School

Department Hours

Full-time, non-exempt and eligible for OT

School Year: Monday 12-7, T-Th 10-7, F 10-4:30, with occasional later evening or weekend work

Summer: 9:00-5:30

Expected to work some High Holy Days

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

Serves as a liaison between the LCLJ (excluding NS) and Operations, Facilities and Security
Coordinates the logistical aspects of all religious school, including program reservations, set ups, food orders, A/V needs, etc.
Orders all necessary supplies for programs and office
Books flights, buses and other travel and logistical needs for all LCLJ trips and events
Reconciles credit card usage for LCLJ
Provides daily support for LCLJ (signs, snacks, guests, early pickups, sign-in, and special events)
Knows the formal and informal inter-departmental and Synagogue goals, standards, policies and procedures.
Is sensitive to the people, dynamics and functions within the education department and the Synagogue.

Communication:

Manages and monitors sensitive information appropriately. Has the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality. Represents the Director of the Religious School, and the institution internally and externally in a professional manner. Will work collaboratively with other administrative staff and education staff to foster consistency in message and teamwork.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required.
Knowledge of synagogue life and Jewish education desired.
1-2 years’ administrative support experience or equivalent work.
Computer Skills: proficiency in Microsoft applications including Microsoft word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint and database skills are a must. Preferred knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Teams a strong plus.
Knowledge of Salesforce a strong plus.
Ability to set and re-set priorities and multi-task effectively and independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
Successful candidate must possess the ability to interpret and translate policy and procedure clearly, and in a personable and patient manner.
Attention to detail and the ability to keep up with data entry are essential.
A high level of organization is necessary, and the candidate must be able to take initiative, prioritize and multi-task.
Must be professional and mature with demonstrated ability to lead, cooperate in a team atmosphere.
Must have a proactive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
Strong written and oral communication skills a must.
