POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Marketing leads the planning, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing initiatives supporting the organization’s education programs, membership engagement, and strategic priorities. This role manages multi-channel campaigns, audience engagement strategies, and marketing operations that expand program reach, strengthen brand visibility, and support organizational growth.

Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, the Manager translates organizational objectives into executable marketing plans, oversees campaign performance, and ensures marketing deliverables are aligned with brand standards, timelines, and measurable outcomes. The role serves as a strategic partner to program teams by providing marketing expertise, campaign leadership, and data-informed recommendations.

This position serves as an operational marketing leader responsible for campaign execution, team coordination, and continuous improvement of marketing processes supporting organizational initiatives. The Manager contributes to departmental planning and continuous improvement initiatives supporting long-term marketing effectiveness. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on campaign execution, with demonstrated success leveraging marketing automation, digital analytics, and multi-channel marketing strategies to increase audience engagement, event participation, and membership growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities listed below represent the primary functions of the role and include, but are not limited to, the following.

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution

Develop and execute campaigns that demonstrate measurable performance across website traffic, email engagement, social media, event registrations, and other key marketing metrics.

Support campaigns that increase awareness, member engagement, education program participation, and conference attendance.
Develop audience segmentation strategies and targeted messaging aligned with organizational objectives.
Translate marketing concepts into campaign calendars, timelines, and deliverable plans.
Ensure campaigns are delivered on strategy, on time, and within budget.
Implement QI as needed to support board-aligned priorities (eg reducing email burden to members, working with new AI platforms, etc.)

Content Development & Audience Engagement

Develop marketing messaging and storytelling aligned with organizational brand and mission.
Collaborate with Editorial, Creative, Web, and Program teams to produce promotional assets.
Support content strategy that increases audience engagement and program participation.
Translate program outcomes and member feedback into impactful marketing communications.
Develop marketing content optimized for professional audiences across email, LinkedIn, websites, digital advertising, and other marketing channels.
Create messaging that supports member acquisition, event promotion, educational initiatives, and organizational thought leadership.

Marketing Automation & Analytics

Build, execute, and optimize marketing automation workflows supporting personalized audience engagement using HubSpot or a comparable marketing automation platform.
Monitor campaign performance metrics including email open rates, click-through rates, website traffic, conversions, event registrations, and audience engagement.
Utilize Google Analytics and other reporting platforms to evaluate campaign performance, identify trends, and recommend optimization opportunities.
Maintain data-informed decision-making across all marketing initiatives through ongoing performance analysis and reporting.

Event Marketing & Brand Representation

Support marketing activations at organizational events and conferences.
Represent the organization at external events, ensuring consistent brand messaging and professional engagement.
Develop pre-event, onsite, and post-event marketing campaigns that drive attendee acquisition, engagement, and ongoing participation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with internal stakeholders across education, editorial, research, and operations teams.
Coordinate campaign workflows across departments.
Identify operational challenges and implement solutions supporting efficient execution.

Leadership & Team Development

Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to assigned team members or junior staff.
Support performance feedback and professional development initiatives.
Contribute to development of scalable marketing workflows and best practices.

Travel requirement: 5-10%.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Marketing Strategy & Execution

Demonstrated success managing integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns with measurable results across email, social media, websites, digital advertising, and event marketing.
Ability to translate strategy into actionable marketing plans supported by performance metrics and continuous optimization.

Communication & Storytelling

Excellent written, editing, and messaging development skills.
Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.

Analytical & Data Literacy

Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting campaign performance data and translating insights into strategic recommendations.
Experience measuring marketing performance through Google Analytics, email metrics, digital engagement, and campaign reporting.

Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.

Technical Skills

Proficiency with marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot or comparable systems.
Experience using Google Analytics and other digital reporting tools.
Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS).
Experience with project management software preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common marketing technologies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required.

Required

Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible professional marketing experience.
Demonstrated success managing integrated marketing campaigns across email, social media, website, and digital channels.
Experience using HubSpot or a comparable marketing automation platform.
Experience using Google Analytics to evaluate campaign performance and inform marketing strategy.
Demonstrated success measuring and improving campaign performance through key metrics such as email open rates, click-through rates, website engagement, event registrations, lead generation, or similar marketing KPIs.

Preferred

Experience marketing professional education programs, conferences, or continuing education.
Experience working within healthcare, oncology, physician organizations, or professional membership associations.
If association experience is outside of healthcare, demonstrated success driving measurable growth through web, social media, and email marketing initiatives.
Experience marketing to physician, healthcare professional, or B2B audiences.
Experience managing LinkedIn campaigns, including paid social advertising and audience engagement initiatives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Remote work environment requiring sustained computer use and virtual collaboration.
Travel required as outlined above.
