POSITION SUMMARY

The Web Manager, Marketing is responsible for the functionality, performance, content integrity, and ongoing evolution of the organization’s primary website and related digital systems. This role oversees website operations including content management, platform performance, system integrations, analytics monitoring, and digital user experience optimization.

Working closely with the Senior Director, Marketing and cross-functional teams, the Web Manager ensures that the website supports organizational marketing, education, and engagement initiatives. The role manages technical maintenance, content workflows, vendor coordination, and digital performance improvements across the organization’s web properties.

This position blends technical web administration with strategic digital oversight, ensuring website functionality, accessibility, and usability support the organization’s digital engagement and marketing objectives. This position requires an individual who enjoys both day-to-day website content administration and data-driven digital optimization. Approximately half of the role is dedicated to website content management and governance, while the remaining responsibilities focus on analytics, user experience improvements, platform optimization, and digital performance measurement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities listed below represent the primary functions of the role and include, but are not limited to, the following.

Website Management & Platform Administration

Maintain and oversee the organization’s primary website to ensure functionality, reliability, and consistent user experience.
Manage website updates, system maintenance, platform upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues and support ongoing platform improvements.
Maintain system documentation and operational procedures supporting website administration.
Serve as the primary administrator for the organization’s content management system, ensuring website content remains current, accurate, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Partner with developers and external vendors to support ongoing platform enhancements while independently managing routine website administration.

Web Content Management & Governance

Coordinate publishing, updating, and formatting of website content across departments.
Maintain consistency with established web standards, accessibility requirements, and organizational messaging guidelines.
Support cross-department workflows to ensure content is accurate, timely, and strategically aligned.
Oversee organization and maintenance of web pages, landing pages, microsites, and digital publications.
Implement security measures, updates, and contingency plans including website backups.
Manage day-to-day website content publishing through the organization’s CMS, ensuring timely updates across marketing, education, membership, conferences, and organizational communications.
Maintain website taxonomy, page structure, metadata, and content organization to support searchability and user experience.

Digital System Integration & Data Management

Manage integrations between website platforms and organizational systems including CRM/AMS, analytics platforms, event systems, and email marketing tools.
Ensure accurate data flow and proper functionality across connected digital systems.
Collaborate with internal teams to support new digital initiatives, platform enhancements, and integration improvements.
Collaborate with Marketing Operations to support seamless integrations between the CMS, CRM/AMS, marketing automation platform, analytics tools, and event registration systems.

Website Analytics & Performance Optimization

Monitor website performance using Google Analytics (GA4) and other reporting platforms.
Analyze user behavior, engagement trends, conversion metrics, and content performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Develop dashboards and recurring reports that translate website analytics into actionable business recommendations.
Partner with Marketing leadership to optimize digital engagement through ongoing testing and performance analysis.
Utilize data to improve navigation, content strategy, website usability, and user experience.

Accessibility & User Experience

Maintain compliance with website accessibility standards including WCAG guidelines.
Evaluate user behavior and feedback to improve site usability and digital accessibility.
Ensure the website supports a clear, inclusive, and accessible digital experience for diverse audiences.
Collaborate with content owners to ensure digital content follows accessibility, usability, and SEO best practices.

Digital Project Coordination

Support development and implementation of new web features, microsites, and digital initiatives.
Collaborate with Marketing, Education, Editorial, and IT teams to ensure successful execution of digital projects.
Coordinate timelines, testing, and deployment for new web functionality and improvements.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Website Platform Management

Strong experience administering enterprise content management systems.
Experience using Sanity CMS strongly preferred.
Candidates with experience administering other modern headless CMS platforms will also be considered.
Strong understanding of website architecture, publishing workflows, governance, and ongoing platform administration.

Technical & Digital Fluency

Working knowledge of HTML/CSS with the ability to troubleshoot or make minor code modifications when needed.
Experience using Google Analytics (GA4) and other website analytics platforms.
Familiarity with SEO best practices, website accessibility standards, digital performance reporting, and user experience optimization.
Comfortable interpreting analytics and translating insights into actionable website improvements.

Project Management

Strong organizational and project coordination skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to coordinate across teams and vendors while maintaining deadlines and quality standards.
Ability to successfully balance ongoing website administration with longer-term digital optimization initiatives.

Communication & Collaboration

Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills in a cross-functional environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Digital Communications, Information Systems, Marketing, or related field required.

Required

Four (4) to six (6) years of progressively responsible experience managing websites, digital platforms, or enterprise CMS environments.
Demonstrated experience balancing website administration, content management, and digital analytics responsibilities.
Experience using Google Analytics (GA4) or similar digital analytics platforms.
Experience collaborating with marketing teams to support website optimization and audience engagement initiatives.
Preferred

Experience administering Sanity CMS (strongly preferred).
Experience working within healthcare, professional associations, nonprofit organizations, or other mission-driven organizations.
Experience managing integrations between CMS platforms and CRM/AMS, SSO, marketing automation, and event registration systems.
Experience collaborating with web developers and external technology vendors.
Basic design experience using Canva, Photoshop, or Figma.
Experience improving website performance through analytics, content optimization, accessibility enhancements, and user experience improvements.
