Job description

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
Design & develop large-scale fitness equipment and manage the development of the integrated subsystems and member input devices
Work closely with Product Management, Mechanical Engineering, UX Testing, and Software to develop engaging fitness equipment for our members
End-to-end product development from research and early concept exploration, to product DFM and launch
Make design decisions for a product and/or component and show/explain how those decisions were made
Use a variety of inputs to stimulate creative thinking, make design proposals, and evolve our design language
Communicate your ideas via physical prototypes, sketches, 2D presentations, and CAD – effectively articulating your design ideas to partners across the company
Implement all tasks with high quality – develop, deploy and maintain design intent with limited oversight
Produce work that is free of major technical defects – you are able to debug and fix issues when they arise, mostly independently
Troubleshoot technical challenges with cross-functional partners and vendors to maintain design intent
Actively engage the team in discussions and foster healthy design debates and mediate conversations between functions to help drive toward decisions
Own and drive presenting your work – carefully crafting your presentations based on understanding your target audience
Facilitate brainstorms within your design team to stimulate creative thinking and capture ideas
Simultaneously work across 2+ projects at various stages of development – leading and supporting workstreams as needed
Specify CMF for all user-facing parts and ensure production parts meet design and CMF requirements

WHAT YOU BRING TO PELOTON
You have a proven understanding of the Product Development Process and are able to manage complex design assemblies. Your work is detailed, and well thought out
You lead sophisticated projects with direction from program leaders and input from cross-functional partners
You have the ability to self-define relevant parameters to work within; set and prioritize deliverables with appropriate timeframes to meet program & phase gate objectives
You ask the right questions to help inform and define outcomes/results for yourself and other designers
You have experience bringing analog and digital products to market that meet rigorous ergonomic and usability requirements
You have experience developing small and large-scale mass-produced products that use a variety of manufacturing methods including but not limited to plastic injecting modeling, metal stamping, welding, die casting, extrusions, and soft goods
You have a passion for design in all its forms and compelling skills, including the ability to translate brand values into captivating narratives, products, and experiences
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design
8+ years of relevant work experience
Highly proficient in analog and digital sketching with compelling sketch/rendering skills
Proficient in Solidworks (working with surface modeling + curvature continuous CAD)
Proficient in Keyshot
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
Experience using Google Docs, Slides, Sheets (or equivalent)
