Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Religious School Office Manager to support the daily operations of our thriving K–12 Religious School program. This position serves as the operational backbone of the school, ensuring that administrative systems, logistics, communication, and administrative processes support a welcoming, responsive, and high-quality educational experience for students, families, faculty, and staff.

Working closely with the Religious School Director and the education team, the Office Manager oversees registration and enrollment, maintains student and family records, coordinates school logistics, tracks budget, supports faculty and substitute teachers, and helps ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all Religious School programs.

Essential Responsibilities

Registration & Database Management

Prepare and manage student registration, enrollment, scheduling, and class placement processes.
Maintain accurate student and family records in registration and synagogue databases.
Create class rosters, attendance reports, directories, and other operational reports.
Assist families with registration, scheduling, and program-related questions.
Coordinate with synagogue staff regarding tuition, billing, and financial processes.

School Operations & Faculty Support

Serve as a primary Religious School point of contact.
Ensure that school operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Support faculty onboarding and administrative needs.
Prepare materials, rosters, schedules, and communications for faculty and staff.
Order and manage supplies, materials and food orders.

Family Communication & Program Support

Serve as a welcoming and responsive point of contact for Religious School families.
Draft and distribute school communications, newsletters, event registration, reminders, and program updates.
Manage registration, attendance tracking, event logistics, and program coordination.
Create a warm, organized, and positive experience for students, families, and staff.

Office Administration

Create and maintain organized systems to support smooth office workflow.
Maintain data, reporting, purchasing, and administrative projects.
Reconcile monthly credit card usage.
Prepare monthly payroll and financial reports.
Assist with other administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Comfortable using a range of technology, including Zoom, databases such as ShulCloud, Regpack, etc.
An understanding of synagogue life, Jewish holidays, and Jewish customs desired.
Warmth, love of children, a good sense of humor, flexibility, and a team-oriented spirit are essential.

Education and Experience

Associates degree required; four-year college degree preferred.
3-5 years experience in an office management, school administration, program coordination, or related administrative role.
Experience in a school, synagogue, nonprofit, or membership-based organization preferred.
