Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Process Analysis, the Business Analyst is responsible for understanding the Firm’s business processes and serves as part of a team to improve those processes and solve business problems.

This candidate must be results and goal oriented with strong client relationship, change management, interpersonal and analytical skills. A successful candidate must be a self-starter, is passionate about learning, has proven experience working with stakeholders at various levels, and has the ability to participate on multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities
Perform business, data and functional analysis and document business requirements, business rules, process flows, data diagrams, data maps, and data definitions based on business needs
Lead and actively contribute to reviews of cross-functional business processes and assist in documenting and refining workflows
Understand and analyze current (“as is”) and future (“to be”) business processes, identify gaps, and support the development of recommended solutions
Lead and actively participate in requirements gathering sessions and help ensure documentation reflects business needs and priorities, clearly delineating between requestors “needs” versus “wants”
Develop subject matter knowledge in assigned business areas and gain an understanding of current business processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Effectively collaborate and coordinate between technology, business and other functions ensuring the delivery of solutions that solve the needs of the Firm
Partner with technology to “translate” the business requirements into technical requirements
Work cooperatively and effectively with team members to support goal achievement, problem resolution, and decision-making processes
Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem
Partner with business teams in creating and executing User Acceptance Test plans, serving as a liaison between technical and business teams during testing
Promote and follow established business analysis practices and contribute to their continuous improvement across the Firm
Maintain project documentation and provide regular updates on assigned tasks and deliverables

Qualifications
5+ years of proven work experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
Bachelor’s Degree in related area or equivalent work experience
Proven real world business analysis skills. Business Analysis certification is a plus.
Practical experience documenting business processes, workflows, and requirements
Strong interpersonal, listening, customer service, change management, communication, problem solving, process re-engineering, presentation, and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to develop and document business requirements, process flows, data maps, data definitions, policies, and procedures
Familiarity with process mapping and diagramming tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio) preferred
Ability to document requirements in both traditional and agile formats depending on the methodology defined for a given project
Must have solid experience interacting and communicating effectively across all levels of an organization
