Job description
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors and prospects with the capacity to give $10,000+ annually to United Way’s direct initiatives.
Create and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for each donor in the portfolio.
Conduct regular donor meetings, site visits, and engagement opportunities to deepen donor commitment and increase giving.
Track and document all donor interactions and moves management activity in CRM to ensure data integrity and pipeline visibility.
Proactively identify and qualify new major gift prospects with an interest in United Way’s mission and initiatives.
Design and implement outreach strategies to engage new donors, including personalized communications, peer-to-peer referrals, and events.
Collaborate with internal teams to align donor interests with programmatic funding opportunities and impact storytelling.
Lead solicitation efforts for new major gifts through compelling proposals, presentations, and relationship-building.
Serve as a thought partner in shaping the organization’s major gifts strategy and annual revenue goals.
Contribute to segmentation and analysis efforts to uncover donor trends, upgrade potential, and funding gaps.
Requirements
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience Requirements: Five years’ experience in business development, partnership management, account management, fundraising, volunteer management, or related roles.
Technology Requirements: Intermediate Word. Beginner Internet Explorer, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Point and Andar.
Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Public speaking, understanding of people, ability to adapt to changing situations, ability to understand and analyze industry trends, sales ability, computer skills, basic math skills, and negotiation skills. The Spanish language is not a requirement, but helpful.
