Job description
What you’ll be doing
On any given day, you can expect to do the following key activities:
Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach a team of BDRs to create and qualify new business opportunities for the sales team and train future AEs.
Set daily, weekly, and monthly team objectives; hold the team accountable for hitting key performance metrics (calls, emails, meetings booked, opportunities created).
Build and optimize outbound sales cadences—including sequences, scripts, email templates, and LinkedIn messaging.
Design the BDR playbook around territory, lead routing, and tooling to enhance team efficiency and reporting visibility.
Train the BDR team on effective outreach, qualification frameworks (e.g., BANT, MEDDICC), and pipeline management.
Lead by example—join calls, review messaging, and coach team members via regular 1:1s and call reviews.
Report weekly and monthly on team performance, pipeline contribution, and conversion rates; provide insights to sales, marketing, and RevOps, and develop strategies to increase sales metrics.
Ensure data accuracy and CRM hygiene; collaborate with RevOps to streamline reporting processes.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and camaraderie within the team.
Collaborate closely with Marketing and Product to refine messaging, improve lead quality, and drive targeted campaigns.
Develop onboarding, ramp-up, compensation plans, and career development plans for BDRs.
Champion our company values and act as an ambassador of our mission and culture.
How you’ll be evaluated
We will define specific goals together for your first 30, 60, and 90 days:
30 Days – Complete onboarding, shadow BDR calls and 1:1s, and get up to speed on our current playbook, tooling, and CRM setup.
60 Days – Own the team’s coaching cadence (1:1s, call reviews) and begin identifying opportunities to refine outbound sequences, playbook, and reporting.
90 Days – Be fully accountable for team KPIs (calls, emails, meetings booked, opportunities created), have implemented at least one playbook or process improvement, and take ownership of BDR hiring and performance management.
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in a BDR/SDR manager or team-lead role, ideally in a high-growth startup environment; 1-2 years of deal-closing experience preferred.
Strong record of coaching sales teams to exceed goals and KPIs.
Deep familiarity with CRMs, sales engagement software, and outbound prospecting workflows; familiarity with Sandler Sales methodology a plus.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive process improvement.
Comfort with ambiguity and building new processes from scratch—a true builder’s mentality.
Passion for coaching, developing talent, and driving team motivation.
