Are you the Housing Stability Specialist we’re looking for?
To be successful as a Housing Stability Specialist, candidates should possess a combination of interpersonal and technical skills tailored for the nonprofit sector. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with three years of experience in homeless and housing services, while a bachelor’s degree is preferred to enhance your understanding of the complexities within affordable housing. Proficiency in software tools for case management and client tracking is essential, as it will support your ability to deliver efficient and effective rental assistance services.
A valid Ohio driver’s license with four points or less, alongside proof of insurance, is necessary for transportation to meet with clients and community partners. A reliable personal vehicle is also a requirement for your daily tasks. Additionally, certification in Housing Quality Standards (HQS) is preferred, as it demonstrates your commitment to ensuring safe and suitable housing options for clients.
Strong problem-solving skills and an empathetic approach will set you apart in this vital role.
