Responsibilities
We are looking for a Research Associate to join Autonomous’ premier research team in New York, covering China Macro. If you have a passion for research and are interested in building a long-term career in the investing world, there’s no better place to start than Bernstein. We seek candidates who love to solve problems, analyze data, and are passionate about in-depth fundamental analysis. We offer a unique opportunity to become an industry expert as you work alongside a seasoned veteran who will mentor and develop you. These roles offer a path to more senior opportunities within Bernstein.

As a Senior Research Associate, you will:

Track, report, and forecast China’s macro data releases on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Analyze and anticipate shifts in China’s fiscal and monetary policy
Build and maintain economic models that incorporate evolving macro and business conditions
Conduct deep-dive research into specific topics across China’s economy
Perform regular channel checks and actively engage in relevant industry events in China
Write clear, well-reasoned research reports that communicate findings and investment views to clients
Present published research to external and internal clients through presentations, meetings, and calls
Fulfill bespoke client research requests within Compliance and marketing guidelines
Contribute to the team’s macro coverage of other countries and financial sector coverage of China as needed
We have an outstanding Associate program and make a strong commitment to your development. Our culture is intellectually rigorous, but it is also very collegial and fun. We have robust learning and development programs as well as annual offsite events. We offer a flexible work schedule, but our in-office environment is very active. Our Associates are highly involved in (and often lead) our firm’s cultural initiatives, ranging from health & wellness, community service, mentoring, employee resource groups, social events, and Associate leadership.

The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, Medical/Dental/Vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
