Job description

Key Responsibilities

Manage labour and employment law files through all stages of the legal process
Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, case summaries, and strategic recommendations
Draft pleadings, applications, grievance materials, employment agreements, workplace policies, submissions, correspondence, and other legal documents
Represent or assist with representation in arbitrations, mediations, negotiations, hearings, investigations, and related proceedings
Advise clients on labour relations, employment standards, workplace policies, terminations, human rights, occupational health and safety, and related legal issues
Support matters involving collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, workplace investigations, and regulatory compliance as required
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, unions, tribunals, and other stakeholders in a professional manner
Maintain organized file records, monitor deadlines, and support effective case management
Collaborate with legal team members on case strategy, advocacy preparation, and client service
Stay current on legislative, regulatory, and case law developments in labour and employment law
Contribute to additional legal and practice-related initiatives as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction and in good standing with the relevant law society
Proven experience in labour and employment law within a law firm or comparable legal environment
Strong legal research, writing, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management abilities
Ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines effectively
Strong interpersonal and client service skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Proficiency with legal research tools, document management systems, and Microsoft Office applications
Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and high-quality legal service
