Responsibilities
Essential Functions

1. Provide support to the project by maintaining a visible presence in the field performing site visits to the entire project.
2. Implement safety-related changes on site, as required.
3. Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HSSE programs in the field.
4. Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards to ensure compliance.
5. Inform the project management team and supervision of any new or conflictive legislative matters that could impact the project.
6. Organize and schedule required safety staff and first aid coverage.
7. Provide direction and support and resource to all site managers, supervisors, foreman, and safety personnel.
8. Ensure all incidents are reported immediately to appropriate personnel.
9. Participate and assist in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause and corrective actions where necessary.
10. Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
11. Review safety obligations of the clients and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement and communicated to the Project Manager, Supervisors, Foreman and Safety personnel.
12. Ensure safety boards with postings including but not limited to Health and safety policy, inspection and audit results, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained and current.
13. Communicate, coach, and assist the field staff to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met.
14. Lead and assist safety teams to accomplish goals consistent with production objectives and the site HSE policy and HSE system(s).
15. Investigate incidents, analyze data, identify trends, and develop corrective measures to identify risk reduction and corrective actions across the job site and the Company.
16. Oversee craft safety meetings to ensure effectiveness.
17. Maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions.
18. Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
19. Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
20. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and 7 years’ experience in a safety related position in the petrochemical/ refinery industry. First Aid and CPR trained. Class “A” driver’s license and a clean MVR. Must have a valid TWIC.
