Job description
Duties:
The PCC has clinical and leadership expertise. The principal responsibilities within the site(s) include:
Ensuring efficient day to day operations of clinical areas
Ongoing continuous improvement and project management practices to strengthen clinic processes
Performing financial/administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective site operation
Contributing to staff development by promoting and ensuring a supportive/collaborative learning environment within the service(s)/cluster area based on the principles of adult learning and practice standards for nurses, students and ancillary staff
Performing human resources responsibilities in collaboration with the nurse manager
Liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of quality and optimal management of patient care outcomes (including data collection/reporting)
Qualifications
At minimum, a completion of BScN Baccalaureate in Nursing or Baccalaureate level education with Diploma in Nursing required
Completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing preferred
Basic Cardiac life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
Three (3) years nursing experience, including experience as required by area of responsibility and experience working in a supervisory capacity
Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
Demonstrates membership within a professional nursing association and/or nursing interest groups related to practice
Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills
Experience with project management and/or Lean process improvement an asset
Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and collaborates with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Excellent skills in recognizing, analyzing and resolving problems
Excellent time management skills
Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
Clinical and patient teaching skills
Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
