About the Role:
In this role, you’ll help keep the Legal team running smoothly and find ways to make it run better. You’ll own core workflows like budget tracking, vendor coordination, and reporting. You’ll also run a few key team programs, such as professional development and engagement initiatives, making sure they are organized, easy to manage, and valuable to the team.
You’ll own your day-to-day work and build the judgment to make decisions within your scope. You’ll be expected to ask questions, spot inefficiencies, and suggest practical improvements. This role is a strong fit for someone who is organized, curious, and proactive, and who wants to build solid operational skills while taking on more ownership over time.
Keep Financial Operations Running
Support budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of legal spend
Build and maintain simple financial models and reports
Monitor spend trends and flag issues or anomalies
Help ensure day-to-day financial processes run smoothly
Support Vendor & Outside Counsel Work
Help manage vendor onboarding, records, and coordination
Track vendor spend and basic performance indicators
Conduct rate reviews and AFA modeling for outside counsel
Identify opportunities to improve vendor efficiency and cost
Apply Insights to Support Team Priorities
Utilize available reporting to stay informed on legal operations performance, including spend and vendor activity
Surface relevant observations to team members to support ongoing work and priorities
Help translate information into practical considerations for day-to-day decision-making
Make Processes Better
Identify inefficiencies in workflows and suggest improvements
Support tools like e-billing and matter management systems
Help keep data clean, consistent, and usable
Contribute ideas to simplify and streamline operations
Support How the Team Operates
Own and improve internal Legal programs such as training, continuing education, and engagement initiatives
Coordinate logistics, track membership participation, and maintain documentation
Support communication and organization of team activities
Suggest improvements to make programs more effective and easier to manage
About You:
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in operations, finance, legal, or related field
Experience working with basic data, reporting, or basic financial tracking
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting vendors or external partners is a plus
Strong Excel skills; exposure to reporting tools is helpful
