Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

Provide administrative support to the Senior Rabbi and Executive Director, Chief Communal and Executive Officer.
Coordinate calendars, meetings, and scheduling.
Prepare correspondence, reports, and meeting materials.
Assist with special projects and day-to-day office operations.

Member Experience & Congregational Engagement

Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for members, visitors, and prospective members.
Provide exceptional customer service by phone, email, and in person.
Support new members onboarding and ongoing engagement.
Coordinate volunteer reception coverage.
Respond to member inquiries and lifecycle requests.
Conduct outreach and follow-up with participants, volunteers, and prospective members.
Help connect congregants with programs, volunteer opportunities, and community resources.
Maintain accurate member information in ShulCloud.

Communications & Marketing

Coordinate weekly e-newsletters, event promotions, and congregational communications.
Update website content, social media, and digital signage.
Collaborate with clergy and staff to promote synagogue programs and initiatives.
Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
Assist with photography, event promotion, and storytelling.

Program & Event Coordination

Coordinate logistics for worship services, classes, community events, and special programs. Coordinate room setups, materials, vendors, and volunteer support.
Maintain the congregational programming calendar.
Manage registrations, attendance tracking, and follow-up communications.
Evaluate program participation and recommend improvements to enhance member engagement.

Qualifications

Required

4–6 years of progressively responsible administrative, communications, customer service, or program coordination experience.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive, service-focused attitude.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email marketing platforms, databases, and social media.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for congregational programs and events.

Preferred

Experience with ShulCloud or similar CRM/database systems.
Experience in a synagogue, nonprofit, educational institution, or community organization.
Familiarity with website content management systems and graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Express.
Understanding of Jewish holidays, traditions, or synagogue life is helpful but not required.
