Job description

Key Responsibilities

Crisis Response & Intervention

Respond to non-violent calls from centralized dispatch, including wellness checks, substance use, verbal disputes, noise complaints, requests for clothing or resources, and transportation needs.
Provide field-based crisis intervention, including de-escalation, risk assessment, and stabilization.
Deliver a trauma-informed and compassionate response to individuals in distress.
Case Management & Resource Linkage

Connect clients to housing, medical, mental health, and substance use services.
Provide field-based support and facilitate integration into community resources.
Document all client interactions accurately and in compliance with program standards.
Collaboration & Documentation

Collaborate effectively with team members, community partners, and stakeholders.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to mandatory reporting requirements.
Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training.
Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support program operations.
Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Minimum one (1) year of street outreach experience working with unhoused or vulnerable populations.
Case management experience required.
Valid California Driver’s License, clean driving record (past 3 years), and insurability under agency policy.
Completion of Live Scan fingerprinting, comprehensive background check, and pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred

B.A. or B.S. degree.
Experience working with unhoused populations and individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Prior crisis response, de-escalation, or harm reduction experience.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to travel throughout the Los Angeles service area.
Work Schedule & Setting

Full-time, 12-hour shifts (9:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.).
Rotating schedule: three-day work week followed by a four-day work week (Monday – Sunday).
Day, evening, and night shifts available; weekend shifts as assigned.
Night shift differential applies; overtime paid for hours worked beyond 12 per shift.
Equipment & Technology

Company vehicle provided for field work.
Company-issued mobile device and laptop provided.
Mileage reimbursement available when personal vehicle use is required.
Training & Support

Comprehensive paid training, including safety, crisis intervention, and de-escalation.
Regular supervision and case review.
Ongoing professional development and support.
Service Area

Primary Office: Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
Corporate Office: Culver City, CA (periodic meetings required).
Relocation to Los Angeles area required prior to start date.
