Job description
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of trading and financing agreements, including ISDA Master Agreements, Prime Brokerage Agreements, and Master Repurchase Agreements.
Provide legal counsel on trading, financing, and treasury transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks, offering practical solutions.
Support transaction execution by advising on contractual rights and obligations, and managing risk considerations.
Assist in developing and enhancing legal documentation standards, policies, and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments, staying updated on industry trends and advising stakeholders accordingly.
Collaborate with trading, treasury, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure a seamless and compliant business operation.
Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives, contributing legal expertise and insights.
Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with business and control functions.
Stay organized and manage multiple priorities, ensuring timely delivery of legal services.
Qualifications
J.D. degree from an accredited law school with admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
3-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably gained at a leading law firm or a major financial institution.
Strong experience in negotiating and documenting derivatives, securities financing, and trading-related transactions.
Familiarity with ISDA documentation and industry-standard trading and financing agreements is essential.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
Ability to manage a high volume of work, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with business and control functions.
Experience advising broker-dealers, investment banks, or financial services firms is an advantage.
Knowledge of securities, derivatives, financing, and treasury-related products and transactions is preferred.
