Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity

Help with the design of electrical systems for projects, including power distribution system, lighting, fire alarm, grounding and bonding, lightning protection
Conduct electrical system calculations such as demand load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations and photometric calculations
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials and incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings
Coordinate with multiple disciplines and work in conjunction with project managers to deliver comprehensive and coordinated design deliverables
Support client relations related to project delivery and repeat business
Present technical material in innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences
Participate in local Professional Associations

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics required
A minimum of 2 years professional experience designing electrical systems for buildings
Familiarity with applicable local codes and standards
Experience with 3D BIM software such as Revit MEP
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based work

Preferred Skills

The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work
Exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
Familiarity with power system calculation software (SKM, ETAP or similar)
Knowledge of lighting design software (AGi32, Dialux or similar)
Engineer-in-Training certification
