Key Accountabilities 

Cost Allocation and Chargeback Management 

Design and manage chargeback mechanisms for allocating technology service costs to business units. 
Ensure all technology costs, including infrastructure, software, and services, are allocated accurately and consistently. 
Develop and maintain methodologies for fair and transparent cost distribution. 

Budgeting and Financial Management 

Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for technology services. 
Monitor technology expenditure against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions. 
Ensure compliance with financial policies, standards, and regulations. 

Vendor Metrics and Performance Monitoring 

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for all technology vendors. 
Conduct regular performance reviews and scorecards to assess vendor delivery against contractual obligations. 
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement through data-driven analysis. 
Partner with vendors to drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery. 

Data Analysis and Reporting 

Provide detailed cost reports and dashboards to stakeholders, offering insights into spending patterns. 
Analyse cost data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities for optimisation. 
Prepare financial summaries for leadership, including chargeback reports and recommendations. 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

Act as a point of contact for business units regarding technology service charges, addressing queries and resolving disputes. 
Collaborate with Technology teams to understand cost drivers and provide accurate cost allocation. 
Work with finance teams to ensure alignment with organizational financial strategies and reporting requirements. 

Policy Development and Process Improvement 

Develop and implement policies for the effective management of technology service charges. 
Streamline and automate processes for cost allocation, chargeback, and reporting where possible. 
Ensure governance structures are in place for reviewing and approving technology-related expenses. 

Cost Optimization and Strategic Advice 

Provide recommendations on cost optimization strategies, such as consolidating services or renegotiating vendor contracts. 
Evaluate the financial impact of technology investments, including return on investment (ROI) analyses. 
Support strategic decision-making by providing financial insights into technology service offerings. 

Audit and Compliance 

Ensure all technology service charges and allocations are auditable and documented. 
Support internal and external audits related to technology expenses. 
Maintain compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. 

Experience and Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
Extensive experience in financial management, cost accounting, or chargeback processes, preferably within a technology or IT services environment. 
Demonstrated expertise in managing cost allocation and chargeback models in complex organizational settings. 
Familiarity with Technology financial management frameworks such as Technology Business Management (TBM). 
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. 
Experience working with financial tools and enterprise systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP platforms. 
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to create financial dashboards and insights. 
Understanding of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, and their financial implications. 
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and business units.

High capability to explain complex financial concepts clearly, resolve disputes, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders. 
Technical proficiency, including expertise in SAP, Hyperion and other financial systems, along with use in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Access, Power BI, ) Detail-oriented and compliance-focused, ensuring all financial processes meet regulatory requirements and support audit readiness.
