Responsibilities
Account Coordination (65%)
Schedules, organizes, attends and participates in weekly team/client status meetings
Comes to meetings equipped with updates and ideas as per the agenda, takes notes and distributes them immediately following to SJR team and client
Writes status reports, emails and other forms of written communication an appropriate style – accurate, clear and concise
Organizes contact reports and action items; packages into deliverables for clients and internal teams
Coordinates client status trackers for assigned accounts; maintains project timelines to ensure deliverables are moving through the appropriate review and approval processes
Responds quickly and efficiently to requests from their colleagues
Communicates verbally in a clear and constructive and proactive manner and be able to present in formal meetings
Helps manage project timelines and flags risks, delays, or changing priorities early
Contributes to a positive client experience through reliability, responsiveness, and attention to detail
Supports smooth operation of SJR’s finance by submitting accurate and timely invoices, SOWs, estimates, vendor setup, freelancers, etc.
Creative + Editorial Coordination (25%)
Supports the development and delivery of digital content across formats including internal briefings, long-form articles, website copy, and social content
Assists with content organization and workflows, including briefs, rounds of feedback, and approval tracking
Helps gather, organize, and package background materials for writers, editors, strategists, and creatives
Supports content publishing needs by coordinating assets, links, and formatting requirements across platforms
Participates in creative ideation, brainstorming and concept development
Writes up creative ideas for client presentations, including copy development and sourcing images
Writes first-draft social and short-form copy when “official” editorial support isn’t required
Coordinates with suppliers on production, ensuring deliverables are received on time and shared internally
Manages the acquisition of stock images and footage, voiceovers and music, working with the production team to ensure clients have the correct licenses to utilize content assets as required
Research + Strategic Support (10%)
Researches content topics or communication opportunities to provide detailed insight to the client and creative teams
Conducts content audits, research, and competitive reviews to inform recommendations and content development
Stays current on digital content trends relevant to assigned clients and industries
Monitors industry news, audience behaviours, and competitor activity to surface useful insights to the team
Supports content and account team with research for presentations, client recommendations, and growth opportunities
Qualifications
Internship in marketing / communications field; agency experience is an asset
A general understanding of the marketing / communications landscape
Interest in digital content and how it works across channels, from web and editorial to broader content strategy
An understanding of the value of proactivity, and a strong willingness to seek opportunities to learn and grow
Incredible attention to detail with the ability to deliver written materials error-free, grammatically correct and on time
Well-honed project management and time management skills to ensure delivery of high-quality work on tight deadlines
Ability to listen effectively, document proceedings accurately and support ongoing dialogue
Ability to work independently, but also collaborate with a wide variety of people and disciplines
Flexible, adaptable and responsive when quick turnarounds are required
Strong research skills
Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow within a content-driven, collaborative agency environment
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications
