Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Organizational Development
• Partner with the Executive Director on workforce planning and organizational development.
• Develop and implement HR strategies that support Kulanu’s mission and goals.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
• Provide guidance and support to managers on workforce and personnel matters.
• Supervise and develop HR team members, providing coaching, guidance, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
• Establish departmental goals and ensure the HR team delivers high-quality, responsive service to employees and managers.
Talent Acquisition & Retention
• Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts.
• Develop strategies to attract, retain, and develop high-quality employees.
• Support employee development and succession planning initiatives.

Employee Relations & Performance Management
• Advise managers on employee relations, performance issues, and disciplinary matters.
• Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate action.
• Oversee performance evaluation processes and employee development initiatives.

Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
• Oversee compensation and benefits programs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Manage leave administration, policies, and HR risk management.
• Partner with outside legal counsel and consultants as needed.
HR Operations
• Oversee HR systems, records, reporting, and workforce metrics.
• Analyze data and trends to support organizational decision-making.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of HR services throughout the organization.

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive human resources experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of New York employment law and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.

Preferred
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
• Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, human services, special education, or OPWDD environments.
• Experience supporting organizational growth and change initiatives
