Job description

Responsibilities:

With input and guidance from current faculty and administrators, develop literacy, math, social studies, and other curricula
Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction that provides purposeful, active, and engaging learning experiences
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons encouraging collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons with a focus on social-emotional learning
Differentiate instruction as necessary to meet the needs of all students
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs
Maintain an organized, welcoming classroom environment conducive to student learning
Use technology to support instruction
Use appropriate classroom management strategies so that expectations are clear and students feel comfortable and able to learn
Collaborate with other faculty on schoolwide initiatives, including Jewish Learning curriculum, programming, and events
Show professionalism
Grow and develop professionally

Qualifications:

A minimum of three years experience as a lead teacher (when starting position)
A minimum of a college bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred
United States teaching credential; a California credential is preferred
Relevant teaching experience from independent, public, private, or charter schools
Knowledge of relevant technology, including AI integration
Flexible thinker

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable (not required) Qualifications:

Experience using Writer’s Workshop, phonics instruction (Fundations), Acadience/DIBELS assessment, Math in Focus, Zones of Regulation, and/or Responsive Classroom
Background in Special Education and/or Gifted and Talented Instruction
