Job description

Responsibilities:

Additional duties as assigned.Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.Assist with transporting patients, as needed.

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Work Experience: Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required.

Other Information: **EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date.
