Position Overview:
The Regional Director, Bay Area will lead CSS’s work in the region. This senior-level position will drive the expansion and strengthening of community-based security training programs and volunteer security teams, and serve as a leader in the broader Jewish community on Jewish security issues. The Regional Director will work closely with local partners and other, internal departments– including security, training, volunteer operations, and marketing—ensuring the success of both long-standing and newly engaged partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Growth & Outreach
Oversee all CSS programs within the region.
Expand the number of affiliated volunteer teams in the region.
Expand the number of CSS community-based programs delivered in the region.
Proactively build relationships with new institutions and communal leaders.
Volunteer & Program Support
Serve as the primary liaison for affiliated community members in the region.
Support the volunteer network in the region through coordination with partners and law enforcement and direct logistical support for ongoing training
Ensure effective follow-up with trained community members to optimize their involvement and trajectory within CSS
Strategic Leadership & Community Engagement
Represent CSS as a thought leader across the Jewish communal ecosystem.
Participate in community events and security-related convenings.
Develop and support regional volunteer leadership.
Work with other CSS departments on program implementation and crisis management.

Qualifications:

7-10 years of professional experience in security and Jewish communal organizations (preferably both), or related fields.
Deep familiarity with the Bay Area Jewish community.
Comfort using technology, digital databases, and KPI frameworks.
Demonstrated success in project management involving administrative and logistical requirements and challenges.
Proven ability to work under stressful circumstances and deliver results with short and recurring deadlines.
Proven experience and a high degree of comfort with public speaking.
Ability to work independently in ambiguous environment with little or no guidance.
Self-confidence and sound judgement are critical to success in this role.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
