Job description

Experience Should Include

Enterprise cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) with hybrid cloud design patterns across classification levels

Assessing Workload classification, migration sequencing, and cloud-native refactoring (6Rs framework or equivalent)

Designing for high elasticity, Horizontal and Vertical scaling as well as Dynamic Provisioning.

Assessing Cloud operating model design – platform teams, product teams, customer support, vendor management

Multi-tenancy design and enterprise cloud governance experience

In depth knowledge of Commercial cloud cost models, licensing, and commitment-based pricing strategies (reserved instances, savings plans, committed-use agreements)

DevSecOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD pipeline design fluency

Federal cloud environments preferred – experience with FedRAMP, IL certifications, and multi-classification cloud architectures is a strong advantage

AI/ML workload placement strategy and cloud-native AI services – must demonstrate active use of AI tools in delivery; AI fluency is required for this role

General understanding of cloud cost management and fin-ops.

How you will contribute

Serve as senior technical advisor on cloud strategy and hybrid infrastructure engagements

Lead workload rationalization assessments – classifying workloads for rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, or retirement

Design hybrid/multi-cloud target architectures across classification levels and operating environments

Develop cloud migration roadmaps with decommission gating to ensure on-premises capacity retires as workloads migrate

Advise on cloud vendor strategy, including multi-vendor approaches, lock-in mitigation, and contract terms optimization

Support practice development through internal training, content creation, and people development

Qualifications

8-12+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure leadership, with consulting or advisory delivery

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise migration programs (500+ workloads)

Deep understanding of security requirements in regulated environments (FedRAMP, IL certifications, HIPAA, SOC2)

Federal cloud experience preferred – deep transformation experience in regulated industries can substitute

Bachelor’s degree required; cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) strongly preferred

Comfortable with travel up to 80%
