Job description
Position Summary
The Driver I at MorseLife Health System is responsible for safe transport of Residents from The Tradition or Palace to scheduled locations and back to the MorseLife Health System campus.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Reviews a daily schedule for accuracy and completeness.
• Assists with boarding and disembarking of resident.
• Maintains vehicle logs.
• Ensures gas supply.
• Notifies Maintenance of any needs for service.
• Understands and complies with all procedures
and regulations as related to Fire Safety, OSHA and Disaster programs.
• Adheres to proper safety procedures while operating facility vehicles.
• Communicate in an effective and courteous manner with all residents, facility personnel and
visitors.
• Supports resident package operations by receiving, organizing, and distributing resident
packages in accordance with departmental procedures and service standards.
• Utilizes downtime between resident transportation assignments to complete resident package
deliveries and other assigned operational responsibilities.
• Performs package-related duties and other assignments as directed by the Director of Resident
Services or management to support departmental operations and organizational needs.
• Maintains communication with supervisors regarding work assignments and remains available to
perform productive work throughout scheduled work hours.
• Completes assigned transportation services, resident package deliveries, and other assigned
responsibilities before the end of each scheduled shift unless otherwise authorized by management.
• Follows established departmental procedures for meal breaks, work assignments, and
operational coverage to ensure uninterrupted resident services and appropriate staffing levels.
• Demonstrates flexibility by assisting with transportation services, resident package operations,
and other departmental functions as operational needs require.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
