Job description

The Resident Services Director is responsible for resident assessments, care planning, staff supervision, family communication, regulatory compliance, and overall clinical operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is passionate about serving seniors and supporting a culture of excellence. Responsibilities are consistent with common Resident Services Director and Wellness Director roles in assisted living communities, essential Duties & Responsibilities, Resident Care & Clinical Oversight.

Conduct pre-admission and ongoing resident assessments.
Develop, update, and monitor resident service plans.
Coordinate care with physicians, home health agencies, hospice providers, pharmacies, and outside healthcare professionals.
Monitor resident health status and identify changes in condition.
Ensure physician orders and care recommendations are implemented appropriately.
Participate in resident care conferences and family meetings.
Support successful transitions following hospitalizations and skilled nursing stays.
Leadership & Staff Management

Recruit, train, coach, and supervise caregivers, Med Techs, and care staff.
Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
Conduct performance evaluations and corrective action when necessary.
Lead departmental meetings and in-service trainings.
Foster a positive and accountable team culture focused on resident care and customer service.
Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with California Title 22 regulations and community policies.
Maintain accurate resident records, assessments, and care documentation.
Assist with licensing visits, audits, and surveys.
Investigate incidents and ensure timely documentation and follow-up.
Monitor medication management practices and resident care services.
Family & Resident Relations

Serve as the primary clinical contact for residents and families.
Communicate resident care updates and address concerns promptly.
Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Build strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare partners.
Community Operations

Collaborate with department leaders to support resident wellness and satisfaction.
Participate in Manager-on-Duty rotation as assigned.
Assist with move-ins, resident retention efforts, and occupancy goals.
Support emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Qualifications

Current California LVN license in good standing.
Minimum 2 years of assisted living, memory care, home health, or senior living experience.
Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
Knowledge of California RCFE regulations and Title 22 requirements.
Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with electronic health records and medication management systems preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
