Job description
This role is responsible for preparing properties for auction. Did you know: Property auctions occur when the Tax Collector has a lien on a property and requests the Clerk to sell the property for non-payment.
In this role, you will be challenged with researching the liens and the history of the property. All investigations are done on-line to ensure anyone with an interest in that specific property is timely notified of the auction.

Examples of Essential Functions
Reviews and analyzes documents affecting sales; investigates and determines if sales can go forward/sets auction sale dates.
Researches and updates online auction site for completeness and accuracy.
Works closely with the law firms and Tax Collector’s office.
Determines interest and credit or minimum bid for auction sales; cashiers all deposits and all sale proceeds.
Determines payments due, generates disbursement requests.
Provides procedural guidance to the public assisting them through the auction process.
Enters/verifies data received from the Tax Collector’s office.
Performs all online sale-related functions; includes verifying data, monitoring sale, processing payments, and preparing post-sale documents.
Balances accounts; verifies inventories; determines questionable entries; identifies discrepancies by examining supporting documentation.
Prepares notices/documents and tracks due dates.
Assists with quality control, overall departmental efficiency and procedural development.
Typical Qualifications
High school diploma (or GED), supplemented by five (5) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Some vocational or college courses preferred. Once qualified, deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions.
