Bus Drivers

Key Responsibilities

– Operate a bus along designated routes, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.

– Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is functioning properly.

– Provide safe transportation for passengers, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride.

– Assist passengers with boarding and deboarding, particularly individuals with disabilities or special needs.

– Manage fare collection, provide change, and issue tickets or receipts.

– Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bus interior.

– Communicate clearly and effectively with dispatch, particularly in case of delays or emergencies.

– Report any incidents, accidents, or breakdowns to the appropriate authorities promptly.

– Build and maintain excellent customer relationships, addressing passenger inquiries and concerns with patience and tact.

Qualifications

– A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.

– Proven experience as a bus driver or in a similar role.

– Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or violations.

– Strong knowledge of local and regional roadways and traffic laws.

– Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations with professionalism.

– Excellent customer service and communication skills.

– Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.

Physical Requirements

– Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle safely.

– Capable of occasionally lifting weights up to 20 pounds.
