Responsibilities

Serve as a seasoned audit professional, providing mentorship, guidance, and subject matter expertise to audit team members while fostering their professional development.
Partner with leadership to assess risk and define the scope, objectives, and approach for audit engagements.
Execute risk-based audit testing for assigned programs, ensuring timely completion and adherence to established methodologies and quality standards.
Evaluate program compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, corporate policies, procedures, underwriting guidelines, and industry best practices.
Prepare thorough audit documentation, including comprehensive workpapers, detailed findings, and actionable reports that clearly communicate risks and recommendations.
Present audit results and recommendations to leadership, facilitating constructive discussions that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, enhance operational effectiveness, and improve processes through practical, value-added recommendations.
Collaborate with leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic audit initiatives, contributing to the achievement of departmental objectives and the ongoing enhancement of the audit function.
Provide support to leadership in developing, maintaining, and updating the audit schedule and audit results tracker to ensure accurate planning, monitoring, and reporting of audit activities.
Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to remain current with industry trends, emerging best practices, and evolving audit standards.
Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience; prefer a master’s in accounting 
Four or more years of underwriting, audit or claims-related experience 
Knowledge of fundamental insurance principles, including property and casualty audit processes, rates, rules and underwriting guidelines 
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
Skill in analysis and problem-solving, with the ability to focus on key details amidst complex information
Skill in time and organizational management with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines, adapt to change and effectively multi-task while maintaining attention to detail 
Proficient in both verbal and written communication with a commitment to maintain confidentiality 
Capacity to travel and work autonomously while ensuring transparent communication with internal leadership
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and function specific software applications
