Job description

Position Summary:

This exciting new position offers an opportunity to support a growing nonprofit in making a tremendous impact on hundreds of Jewish teen volunteers as well as thousands of children and families across Atlanta. As Creating Connected Communities’ (CCC’s) Leadership Development Program (LDP) Assistant Director, you will support the Leadership Development Program Director and work collaboratively with our team to implement our one-of-a-kind program. This position offers significant flexibility and opportunities for career growth.

The LDP Assistant Director will assist with the implementation, facilitation, and administrative duties of CCC’s Leadership Development Program, working directly with Jewish teens, mentors, and the LDP team. These hours occur mostly in the evenings and occasional weekend hours for sessions, mentor training sessions, outreach programs, and any other special events.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven professional who can easily engage and connect with teens, has the ability to “command the room,” can support strong community partnerships, is eager to manage and empower young adults to serve as mentors, can relate to young Jewish professionals, and has the skills to implement complex program logistics.

Most sessions are 4 hours per session, 4 per month on weekday evenings

Support recruitment/marketing efforts at informational sessions for prospective teens and through communication with partner organizations.
Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of young adult mentors, ensuring they are prepared for LDP responsibilities.

Assist with the implementation of LDP’s Teen Fall Fundraiser.
Assist in implementing LDP alumni outreach plan.
Assist in facilitating subcommittees of LDP’s teens.
Serve as a substitute for mentors, as needed.
Attend outreach programs to help manage teen volunteers and mentors and to make the connection between LDP and the outreach work, as available and necessary.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education or workforce experience.
Direct experience working with teens in a formal or informal education context is preferred.

Strong work ethic and ability to maintain accountability and display efficiency in a remote working environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting with teens, parents, team members, and community representatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint.
Ability to work within CCC’s Schedule Requirements (see details above).
