The Role

Owns full project delivery from architecture through production, across backend infrastructure, APIs, lakehouse connections, and front end work.
Builds the customer ingestion and authentication flows that power the nOps platform.
Works hands on across the stack, with a strong backend and infrastructure focus.
Mentors junior developers and helps shape engineering best practices as the team scales.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure and Architecture:

Designs, builds, and maintains systems on AWS using infrastructure as code.
Owns systems architecture decisions and ensures scalability, security, and reliability across the platform.
Modernizes fragmented and legacy processes so the team can move faster.

Platform Development:

Builds and ships new features end to end, from backend services and APIs to front end interfaces.
Develops customer integrations and data ingestion flows that connect into Databricks and our lakehouse.
Collaborates with product managers to scope, estimate, and deliver projects on tight timelines.

Engineering Excellence:

Writes clean, well tested, maintainable code in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
Reviews code, provides feedback, and supports junior engineers as they grow.
Uses AI coding tools like Cursor and Claude Code as a core part of the development workflow.

Requirements

4 plus years of experience as a software engineer, ideally with a senior title at a larger company.
Deep AWS infrastructure experience is a must, including strong fluency in systems architecture and infrastructure as code.
Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
Experience taking projects from blank page to production with minimal hand holding.
Demonstrated comfort working across the stack, with a particular strength on the backend.
Active use of AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code in your day to day workflow.
Self directed operator who thrives in a fast moving, build it yourself environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with Databricks, Vercel, or WorkOS.
Exposure to GCP or Azure in addition to AWS.
Background in FinOps, cloud cost optimization, observability, or a related infrastructure or DevOps category.
Experience mentoring junior developers or leading small project teams.
Familiarity with Postgres or other relational databases.
