Job description
Responsibilities:
· Classroom Instruction:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons focused on early childhood development, including arts and crafts, free play, storytelling, and Jewish curriculum.
Implement a structured classroom environment to support children’s learning and growth.
Curriculum Development:
Participate in weekly joint curriculum planning sessions to collaborate on lesson plans and activities for the following week (Monday through Friday).
Integrate Jewish teachings, including holidays, Shabbat, Israel, Hebrew language, and simple Hebrew prayers, into daily classroom routines.
Judaic Education:
Lead children in chanting Hebrew prayers daily, including brachot (blessings) before meals and those associated with Shabbat and Jewish holidays.
Incorporate simple Hebrew words and phrases into songs and lessons, and engage children in Jewish holiday storytelling and activities.
Commit to learning Hebrew songs, prayers, and Jewish stories to effectively teach and enrich the curriculum.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports each child’s individual growth.
Foster an atmosphere of respect, cooperation, and learning within the classroom.
Collaborative Responsibilities:
Be present for all scheduled teaching hours and after-school planning sessions.
Hours are 8:30 – 5:30pm
Experience and Qualifications:
EEC (Early Education and Care) Certification.
Experience in early childhood education, preferably with Toddler children.
Strong understanding of early childhood development and teaching strategies for kindergarten readiness.
Knowledge and passion for Jewish customs, traditions, and Hebrew language, with a willingness to incorporate these elements into the classroom.
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Ability to create a warm and welcoming learning environment.
