Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree. Seven years of progressively responsible managerial and/or administrative experience in large-scale operations, logistics, transportation, maritime, public sector, or a similarly complex operational environment, to include supervisory experience.

The Deputy Director provides executive leadership over port operations, public safety, facilities maintenance, maritime services, logistics, terminal operations, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable port operations. Oversee all port operations, including marine terminals, passenger boarding bridge operations, STS equipment, and strategic programs.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee daily port operations across cargo, cruise, security, facilities, harbor operations, and terminal management.
Direct operational enhancements and performance improvements aligned with the department’s long‑term strategic plans.
Coordinate vessel operations, berth utilization, and maritime logistics.
Ensure compliance with U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Patrol, Maritime Administration, and other regulatory bodies.
Lead the department’s operational risk management, emergency response readiness, and safety programs.
Manage operational divisions budget execution, monitor expenditures, and coordinate corrective actions.
Lead organizational improvement initiatives including process redesign, technology adoption, and performance management systems.
Ensure compliance with federal maritime regulations, environmental standards, and safety requirements.
Coordinate emergency operations, hurricane preparedness, and continuity planning.
