Founding Software Engineer

Role Description
We’re looking for a Founding Software Engineer to help architect and build the core infrastructure powering Askew’s suite of novel derivatives. This is a critical role on a small, senior team: you’ll be building reliable, low-latency systems that interact with, collect and model large quantities of unstructured data, while informing capital markets with low margin of error.

If you’ve built scalable systems in Go or Rust, worked on financial infrastructure, love exploring microstructure or care deeply about performance, reliability, and security, we’d love to meet you!

Responsibilities

Design and implement backend systems that collect and model high-volumes of unstructured data
Develop and maintain resilient, low-latency infrastructure informing active orderbooks
Optimize systems for reliability, observability, and security

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in backend systems development at scale
Proficiency in Go or Rust
Deep understanding of system performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
Strong communicator and comfortable owning systems end to end
Trading infrastructure experience is a plus – orderbooks, or low-latency systems
