Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Drawing and Design:
• Develop detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings for panel systems, including
dimensions, layouts, and details.
• Create 2D and 3D models of panel assemblies using design software such as AutoCAD,
Revit, or Sketchup.
• Ensure compatibility of panel systems with structural components and other building
materials.
• Revise and update drawings based on client or project team feedback.
Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project
requirements.
• Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure drawings align with manufacturing
capabilities.
• Collaborate with installation teams to address site-specific challenges and adjustments.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare material take-offs, cutting lists, and other documentation required for fabrication
and installation.
• Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related project documents.
• Provide technical support during the fabrication and installation phases, including RFIs
(Requests for Information).
Quality Assurance:
• Conduct quality checks on all drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project
specifications.
• Verify compliance with industry standards, building codes, and client requirements.
• Ensure that designs are optimized for cost-efficiency and ease of installation.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in drafting for ACM panel systems, cladding and metal facade
design.
Skills:
• Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, or similar).
• Strong understanding of ACM panel system components, fabrication methods, and
installation processes.
• Knowledge of materials such as ACM, metal used in panel systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Certifications (Preferred):
• Certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Drafting Technology.
• Knowledge of LEED standards or sustainable design practices is a plus.
Other Requirements:
• Familiarity with industry standards and building codes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to visit project sites when needed.
