What will you need to succeed:

5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering and maintaining production systems
1+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered or agentic systems that are live in production - not proof-of-concept or research-only work
Experience evaluating and benchmarking multiple third-party LLM providers/models against each other for a given use case (e.g., accuracy, cost, latency, consistency) not training or fine-tuning custom model
Experience shaping and transforming data for optimal model consumption (e.g., OCR/text extraction, structured-to-markdown conversion, chunking, summarization) and managing context window constraints to produce consistent agent outputs
Strong experience with AWS
Experience working in a regulated industry (healthcare, financial services, insurance, or similar), including navigating data privacy and compliance considerations (e.g., PHI handling, BAAs) when integrating third-party LLM providers
Some experience leading, mentoring, or setting direction for other engineers, whether in a formal management role or informally as a senior/staff-level contributor
